A round-necked, yoked cardigan with three-quarter sleeves and lace patterning, suitable for intermediate knitters. The body is worked in a single piece to the armholes without shaping, using circular needles, and the sleeves are both worked in the round before being joined at the yoke stage. The ribbed neckband is worked as a continuation of the yoke, and the front button and buttonhole bands are picked up and knitted. A few short rows are used to shape the neckline. The underarm seam is grafted (but these stitches may be cast off and seamed if preferred).

The lace patterning is not complex but does require concentration and there is enough variation to keep more experienced knitters interested. Sleeve and body lengths may be adjusted if required.

Suitable for many of our 4-ply yarns, it comes in four sizes with finished bust measurements for Sizes 1, 2, 3 and 4 of 92.5/101.5/108/116.5 cm (36/40/43/46 inches). Size 1 takes 300g (1,200m) of yarn and for Sizes 2, 3 and 4 you’ll need 400g (1,600m).

Samples/test garments have been worked in our Falklands Merino Wool, Blue Faced Leicester Wool, Falklands Merino/Alpaca/Silk and Alpaca/Silk 4-plys.

Worked with 2.75mm and 3.25mm circular and double pointed needles (or circulars only if you work magic loop for the sleeves) at a tension of 28 sts and 36 rows to 10 cm (4 inches) over stocking stitch.
