Vertical Stripe Beginner tea cosy
I couldn’t find any patterns that would fit my teapot which is wider at the bottom than at the top, unlike the traditional round teapot, so I made this simple ribbed vertical stripe one with ties to tighten where needed. It can of course be adapted to the more traditional teapot by adding an extra tie! It’s really easy you just need to know how to double crochet and triple crochet (or single and double crochet if you are American) as well as know how to work into the back of a stitch.
No gauge necessary, and you can use any thickness yarn or size hook so its perfect for any remnants you have. However, if you are anything like me I’d recommend something that is machine washable as I have a habit of spilling tea everywhere :)
This is my 1st pattern so feel free to ask any questions if you don’t understand something or if something needs correcting!
