This crochet pattern is for a men’s t-shirt with vertical stripes. Anyone who knits or crochets knows that vertical stripes can be hard work when made bottom to top of a garment, so I have designed this t-shirt to be made sideways. Crochet rows go from hem to shoulder, so there is no complex colour changing or carrying yarn across.

The design features three stripes that continue from front to back, across the shoulder. The pattern was designed using DK cotton, so the t-shirt is light and cool.

The garment is made in three pieces, with the back and front made as one, and then sewn together. The instructions include lots of detail to ensure complex shaping is made easy.

There is a lot of stretch in the finished item, so the sizing is only approximate.

I have listed this pattern as “intermediate” because of shaping and pattern techniques.
