Description of the Vertical Vibe Sweater
The Vertical Vibe Sweater is a cropped sweater worked top-down with double rib, stockinette stitch and saddle shoulders. The sweater has a round neckline, which can be worked in two different heights in double rib. After the neckline, the stitches are divided for shoulders, front and back. The double rib continues across the shoulders and down the chest. Short rows are worked to shape the back neck for a comfortable fit.
Once the shoulders and short rows have been completed, the work is divided for sleeves, after which the body and sleeves are finished separately. The body is initially worked flat as front and back. After the sleeves have been set aside, the body is joined again and worked in the round.
Stitches are then picked up for the sleeves, which are knitted in the round with a double rib stripe running down from the shoulder panel. Both body and sleeves are finished with double rib.

Choosing a Size
The Vertical Vibe Sweater is designed with a positive ease of -3 to +7 cm (–1¼ to +2¾ in) for sizes XS–2XL. Sizes 3XL–5XL have slightly more ease: 5–15 cm (2–6 in).

Gauge (after washing)
10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in) = 22 sts x 32 rows on 3.5 mm (US 4) needles in both double rib and stockinette stitch, depending on yarn choice.

Note: The Vertical Vibe Sweater is worked in a combination of double rib and stockinette stitch. Before washing, these two stitch patterns do not have the same gauge, which means the sweater may curl at the shoulders and on the back where increases are made. After washing, the fabric relaxes and the curling evens out. When drying, you may choose to block the double rib to match the gauge of the stockinette. However, there will still be a visible difference between the large rib panels on the front and the stockinette sections. For the sample shown, the sweater has not been blocked.
