Vertlaine Shawl
The Vertlaine Shawl is the first pattern I’ve written. In 2023, after I learned to Hairpin Lace crochet, I created this shawl and a sweater with Hairpin Lace parts.
After I released several other patterns and received many requests from knitting friends, I decided to publish this pattern.
This shawl has a Hairpin Lace crochet part and a knitted part.
I included a video in the pattern for those unfamiliar with this crochet technique. Only basic crochet skills are required, with this video’s help, you can make the Vertlaine Shawl.
I also filmed a tutorial with a friend for left-handed crocheters. She managed the technique in no time! This video is added to the pattern.
A step-by-step explanation with photos is also included in the pattern.
After the two crochet borders are finished you start the knitted part attaching your knitting to this border while you go. Once the knitted part is finished the second border is attached by either crochet or grafting.
Believe me this all sounds more complicated than it is and with the clear explanations and photos, every basic knitter/crocheter will enjoy discovering this technique and making this shawl.
