This pattern has been test knit and rewritten into modern knitting language. The pattern includes both the original version and the updated and modernised version.

This is a vintage pattern from Cornelia Mee’s 1846 book, Exercises in Knitting. The entire book can be viewed on the Gutenberg.org website. The book is a project being recorded and knitted by volunteers at the Librivox site.

Notes from the modernised pattern: “You can change the size of the pelisse by changing your gauge using different sizes of needles and weights of yarn. The one in the sample was knitted using DK weight Aran and 5mm needles at a gauge of 5sts/in.”
