Asparagus vest
It is a drop shoulder cropped style vest, with delicate purl details on the shoulders and a relaxed fit.

Techniques - Knitting flat, knitting in the round, long-tail cast-on, backwards loop cast-on, M1R, M1L,German Short Rows, holding stitches, picking up stitches

It is constructed from the top. To start, the back shoulders and the back neck are shaped using short rows, then worked flat to the underarm. Then, pick up and knit stitches along both shoulder seams and work the two shoulder sections separately. Join the shoulder sections by casting on new stitches at the center front and finish working the front section. Now join the front and back sections and work the remainder of the body in the round.Once the body is finished, stitches will be picked up for the neckline and armholes to work the ribbed edges in the round.The neck edge is worked in rib.

Circular needles
4mmUS6/80cm or 100 cm32 or 40inches for body;

3mm US 2.5 40 cm 16inches for armband and neck
Optional:
Longer needles can be used for the neck and armband if you use magic loop method.

Gauge:
20 sts x 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 inches in stockinette stitch on 4.0 mm US6 needles after wash and blocking

but you may choose to knit this vest using only a single strand of worsted weight yarn as long as you can meet the correct gauge
