Vester Hornum is a very small town in Denmark where my grandmother grew up and my great grandmother lived.

Vester Hornum is a triangular shawl worked as a Danish tie shawl that can be worked in one single or three different colors. The whole shawl is knit with stripes of simple lace patterns. The larger sizes are suitable to be worn as a tie shawl.

The shawl is worked in one piece from the bottom edge and up.
The shawl pictured is size small, the directions includes directions for three different sizes of the shawl.

This pattern includes directions for a large, medium and small shawl with:

Width: 230 (200, 145) centimeters
Height: 75 (60, 50) centimeters

The pattern is written for a knitter who is able to work a simple edge pattern, garter ridges, a small lace patterns, follow written instructions as well as making increases and decreases.

This pattern calls for a yarn with a 28 stitch count per 10 centimeters gauge (after blocking!) i.e. a yardage of approximately 175-180 meters per 50 grams.

Materials: yarn, circular knitting needle, stitch markers and a yarn needle for weaving in ends.

I have a loyalty program where you can choose a free pattern after purchasing my patterns for at minimum of § 25.0.

The pattern does not include finished items yarn etc. The pattern only includes instruction for knitting the shawl.
