Vestover is a layering wardrobe stable.
A long (or short) casual slipover with ribbing at the sides and all ends. The slipover is designed with a lot of short rows to prevent the sides to flare or drip.
The slipover has long slits at the sides that allow you to use pockets in jeans and avoid the Back of the slipover getting an unfortunate extension over the butt. The Back is substantially longer than the Front and will warm you when you are sitting or bending forward.

The fit of the slipover
Be aware that the rib at the shoulders and neck will only be slightly stretched and will remove some of the ease at the upper body.
It is possible to work bust darts, increases or decreases in the length of the slipover, so it can be worked to personal preference.
The slipover is designed to be closed by up to 10cm/4” at the sides below armholes and is otherwise supposed to be open so nobody will look like a big box or “SpongeBob SquarePants”. The sample is worn with 20cm/8” positive ease.

Sizes 1 (2, 3, 4) (5, 6, 7)
Bust measurement of the finished slipover: 100 (109, 118, 126,5) (135,5, 144.5, 153) cm/ 39.25 (43, 46.5, 49.75) (53.25, 57, 60.25)“
Total length – Front (measured from shoulder at armhole and straight down): 62cm/24.5”
Total length – Back (measured from shoulder at armhole and straight down): 72cm/28.5”

Gauge
18 sts x 26 rows for 10cmx10cm/4”x4” in Stockinette Stitch and in slightly stretched rib with 6.0mm/US 10 needles
Note! Significantly smaller needles may be used to meet gauge if another yarn is chosen.

Yarn (semi long version)
4 (4, 5, 6) (6, 7, 7) skeins of Isabella by Permin, 62% wool, 14% silk, 13% cotton, 11% polyamide, 220m/240y per 50g/1.76oz
Note! The yarn is spun like a chain/tube which makes the yarn softer and airier. The recommended needles to work this yarn are 6-7mm/US 10-12 despite the meterage per 50g/1.76oz
Note! Yardage is an estimate for working according to measurements. If you want a longer/shorter slipover adjust the skeins needed to work a slipover to your own desire.

The yarn is discontinued according to Ravelry but it’s still available in the Danish yarnshops!
Yarn alternative: Semilla Melange GOTS by BC yarn, DK, 100% wool, 175m/191y per 50g/1.76oz. and getting gauge with needle size 5.0mm/US 8
(It is a natural wool yarn that blooms after wash and creates a soft and lovely fabric.
Otherwise I advise you to look at the testknitters versions and yarn choices.

Needle size
6mm/US 10, 80cm/32” circular needle for the body
Note! Needle size is only a suggestion please use the right sizes to obtain gauge.
