Would you like a resource for creating patterns for vests to fit babies and toddlers? Here it is!

This is a set of instructions and charts that allow you to create a crew-neck, V-neck, or button-down style vest. Our charts are for vests that are knitted from the bottom up for children ranging from newborn up to kids aged 4. You choose your size based on the child’s weight or chest circumference.

All you have to do is pick a yarn with a gauge between three stitches per inch and seven stitches per inch. You decide what you want to do: Stockinette? Stripes? Colorwork? Cables? You can do it all with “Vests for Babies and Toddlers.”

These instructions and charts can be used by any knitter who is an advanced beginner or above. If you can cast on, cast off, increase, and decrease, you can use these instructions and charts to knit a baby vest.

“Vests for Babies and Toddlers” is a joint creation of Marie Benko and Valerie DeBenedette. Marie had the idea and did the bulk of the work.
