Inspired by Veth Brenatto, a character created by Sam Riegel on Critical Role, this shawlette is a great way to showcase the beautiful buttons you’ve been collecting for years. You can choose colors reminiscent of the character and use the shawlette for cosplay, or you can choose your own favorite colors and have a piece that you can wear in your everyday life.

Buttons are added to this shawlette in a random fashion – buttons vary in shape and size, and what looks good with one combination of yarn may look strange with another. Buttons can be added using the crochet hook method (see photo tutorial at the end of the pattern) or they can be sewn on after the knitting is complete.

The shawlette is knit with two strands held together at all times – one strand of worsted weight yarn in the appropriate color, and one strand of the light fingering weight yarn.

The sample used one full set of the Caron x Pantone Bamboo yarn (180 yards), a partial skein (about 200 yards) of the Loops & Threads Woolike, and 106 buttons.
