An adorable little beret is perfect for spring. Not only it’s one of the most fashionable head toppers this season, it’s easy to make one in about 2 hours. V-stitch creates fun texture, and a tiny optional pompom adds to the overall cuteness of this hat.

Skill level: advanced beginner to intermediate
Finished dimensions: Child (head circumference about 20”), and Adult (head circumference about 22”)
Yarn: Worsted weight yarn, total of 3.5 oz/100 g or 220 yd/ 200 m for adult size. I used Knit Picks Swish Worsted 100% superwash merino wool, 110 y/50g, 2 balls.
Hook: US F (3.75 mm) or size to obtain gauge.
Other materials: tapestry needle pompom maker.
Gauge: First 3 rounds = 3” in diameter.
