Vexillology is an elongated diamond shaped scarf and shawl design inspired by my love of colour and Dark Harbour Yarn.

It features a centre stockinette panel, intarsia, a notched garter edge and a contrast colour BO. It can be worked in two four or eight colours and if you can’t decided on colours I’ve also included a line drawing to colour in.

If you haven’t tried intarsia before, don’t worry, I’ve included a separate tutorial to help you out.

Yarn: 810 yds/740 m (1748 yds/1600 m) of a fingering weight yarn required in total.

Samples Use:

  • Scarf: 2 skeins of Madelinetosh 80/10/10 Fingering. 1 skein each of Tern (MC) and Pansy (CC).
  • Shawl: 4 skeins of Dark Harbour Port. 1 skein each of Velvet Scooter (MC), Snow Petrel (CC1), Wrybill (CC2) & Pull Me Down (CC3).

Sizes: 97.24 inches/247cm (115.35 inches/293cm) long by 18.31 inches/46.5cm (27.56 inches/70cm) deep.
