Victorian Fascinator
Wrap yourself in vintage elegance with this Victorian Fascinator Crochet Pattern, lovingly restored from Weldon’s Practical Crochet (1895–1896). This charming historical accessory features ornate shells and a beautifully reconstructed Mingardese picot edging, perfect for reenactment, costuming, or simply crafting a unique heirloom piece.
This piece is actually a combination of two Victorian patterns: A Victorian Fascinator from Weldon’s Practical Crochet Series Three and a Mingardese Edging for Baby Things from Series Five. Both patterns have been translated and adapted to make them easier to follow. In the case of the Mingardese Edging, the initial row has been reverse engineered to get as close as possible to the original look because unfortunately, they don’t make the Mingardese braid used in the original pattern as its base anymore.
Also, you can do this with one skein of Yarn Art Flowers, but it will use the WHOLE skein. I literally had a single foot of yarn left.
