Pattern description from Handknit Holidays: “These ladylike gloves were inspired by a pair Betty Christiansen found in an antique store in St. Paul, Minnesota. They hark back to the days when women, like her grandmother, didn’t leave the house without matching hats and gloves, especially for holiday social occasions. This pair is designed flat, without a gusset, so they look as pretty and ladylike draped in the hand as they are on it. While delicate-looking, the alpaca and silk yarn they are knit with makes them sturdy and warm as well as luxurious. A mock-cable cuff and simple beading add a little holiday dazzle.”
