This pattern was designed as a collaboration with Dani from the wonderful Little Bobbins podcast, and Jane from Hedgerow Yarns.

Every year Dani hosts a Christmas Eve Cast On, a sweet and simple tradition to cast on a pair of socks every Christmas Eve, and this year Curious Handmade is joining in with a special sock design.

Inspired by the sparkle of the vintage fairy lights which played a starring role in so many childhood Christmas memories, these socks are intended to evoke a mood of nostalgia and comfort. There’s an easy textured pattern on the top which brings to mind those old-fashioned Christmas lights, with a straightforward rib on the leg: something easy to relax you as you sit knitting and waiting for Santa.

The socks are finished with a traditional heel flap and gusset. The sample is knit from yarn that was dyed especially for this pattern by Hedgerow Yarns, but any sock yarn (especially with a bit of sparkle!) will be perfect. Indulge in a little twinkle for your toes with this adorable sock pattern on Christmas Eve!

This pattern is written in the Curious Handmade Percentage Checklist style™.
