Violet Fizz
Use the code FIZZ for 20% off this new pattern until Friday 11/6 at midnight EST!
Bold texture, gorgeous fabric and a great color. The starting point for this one was the collar, which I wanted to pair with classic cables (big surprise) on a luxurious feeling pullover! It’s designed to be worn with my usual jeans, but also as an option if I have an occasion to get a little dressier….
Violet Fizz is not the least bit fussy, but it absolutely can turn a head and dress up an outfit. The little details, the simple, elegant cables, and the gorgeous fabric work beautifully together to create a special knit - without any complex cables or techniques.
I combined two sizes of open and closed twists with textured ribs for long easy lines that lean into the drape of the fabric. I then placed the patterns on the body so the V-neck comes out of the center cable, the edge details are crisp, and transitions flow beautifully from pattern to edges. Simple ribbing under sleeves and at sides allow for modification to the fit, and spots for easy adjustments are noted in the pattern. The neckline can also be lowered or raised, and the folded collar itself can be worked narrow or deeper if desired.
Violet Fizz is worked from the bottom up in the round, then split into front and back pieces which are worked flat to shoulders. The collar is picked up and shaped with a combination of short rows, increases, and a needle size switch. Lastly, sleeves are picked up and worked in the round to cuff.
All cable patterns are both charted and written. Notes are included on how and where to modify things if desired.
Sizes

91.5(102.75,111.75,122,133.25)(142.25,152.5,163.75,172.75)cm.

Yarns (held together)
Sonder Yarn Co. Sunday Morning DK (75% BFL, 25% Masham, 268yds/245m per 3.5oz/100g skein), Color Shhh.
Sonder Yarn Co. Halo (72% Mohair, 28% Silk, 459yds/420m per 1.75/50g skein), Color Brume.
Sample is shown with Sunday Morning and Halo worked double to acheive a worsted weight strand. You can substitute another DK/laceweight combination or you can use a worsted weight yarn held single. If substituting yarn, swatch to be sure you are getting gauge.
Yardage per size
1100(1200,1250,1300,1350)(1400,1500,1600,1700)yds 1005(1100,1145,1190,1235)(1280,1370,1465,1555)m
Above estimates include about 10% buffer, based on test knit feedback. DK/laceweight held together requires the estimated amount for each strand. If using a single strand, I suggest a worsted weight yarn with some softness or drape for a similar look and feel to my sample.
