For the understated VT fan in your life! This pattern creates an illusion knit VT. It will look like a stripes, until you view it from the right angle; then, the pattern will appear.

This pattern in 40 rows long; I repeated the pattern 12 times to create a 6’ scarf. You could also just knit it once, and have a pot holder or a small logo.

I do not normally worry about gauge; you don’t want this pattern extremely loose, or extremely tight. Using your favorite yarn and the recommended knitting needle size with it will be fine.

You will need two colors of yarn: maroon, and (burnt) orange. One of these will be your background color, and the other will be your pattern color.
