This pattern can be found in issue 3 of Laine Magazine.

The hat begins with a brim of twisted ribbing which then turns into flower stems and buds encased in a dome like structure, as if being protected by a greenhouse or terrarium. The pom pom completes the design.

To be worn with 4.5 - 5.5 inches / 11 - 14 cm of negative ease.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Length (not including pom pom): 8.5 inches / 21 cm Circumference: 17.5 inches / 44 cm

MATERIALS
Yarn: 1 skein of Viola BFL 4ply (100% Bluefaced Leicester - 377 yds / 345 m, 100 g), colourway Asteroid.
(1 skein will be enough to make the complete hat and fingerless mitts set. However, it is recommended to make the pom pom last with leftover yarn.)

Needles: US 1 1⁄2 (2,5 mm) and US 2 (2,75 mm) 16” (40 cm) and US 2 (2,75 mm) DPNs . Or US 1 1⁄2 (2,5 mm) and
US 2 (2,75 mm) 40” (100 cm) if using Magic Loop Method.

Notions: One stitch markers, cable needle, darning needle, 2.25” / 6 cm pompom maker or cardboard.

GAUGE
33 sts and 40 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) on US 11⁄2 (2,5 mm) needles in 1x2 twisted ribbing, after blocking.
