This asymmetric triangular shawl combines knit-and-purl textures inspired by classic fishermen’s sweaters. Drawing on the timeless tradition of Gansey knitting, it features signature 8-stitch motifs, richly textured surfaces, and engaging stitch patterns that are easy to learn and memorize.

Knit top-down, the shawl is shaped with increases along the spine and edges and finished with an integrated i-cord border. A series of textured stitch sections creates a satisfying rhythm as you knit, while the flexible construction allows you to customize the length to your liking. For a bolder look, the shawl can also be worked with a double strand of yarn.

The beautiful yarn chosen for the sample brings out the depth and subtle interplay of textures, highlighting the understated elegance of the traditional motifs.
