The inspiration for this came from a homemade hat found in the thrift store. The crown of the hat was made using cotton yarn (comfortable in any temperature) and the remainder or sides were made with acrylic yarn, which provided a good fit. I usually make these granny beanies from just acrylic yarn. But, it’s nice to know that the possibilities are unlimited in regard to the mix of fibers, colors and textures you can use to create your own unique “thrift store fusion.”
