I feel like my voice is small and my actions are even smaller. I know that I can scream and yell at the top of my lungs but that doesn’t mean everybody will hear me. Through the years I’ve learned that the best way to have my voice heard is TO VOTE.

Notes about measurements: These measurements, as well as those listed on the schematic, do not reflect any selvedge sts. Meant to have positive ease.

GAUGE

11 sts and 24 rows = 4” (10cm) in Garter st (knit every row).

MATERIALS

YARN
Bernat “Softee Chunky” yarn, 100% acrylic, 3.5 oz / 100 g, 108 yds / 99 m,
7 (7, 8, 8, 9, 9, 10, 10, 11) balls in colors A (pink) and
2 balls in color B (black).

NEEDLES
US 11 (8mm) at least 36” (91 cm) long circular or size required for gauge.
Recommend an additional US 11 needle for three-needle bind off.

NOTIONS
Removable stitch markers in different colors or designs,
stitch holders or spare circular needles,
extra needle in same size for three-needle bind-off,
yarn needle, 7 (7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 8) buttons 1” (2.5 cm) in diameter,
sewing needle and thread.

NOTES

  • Sweater is worked in one piece from the cuff to the armhole. Then it is separated into right front/ back/ left front.
  • Pockets are worked in a double knitting manner making them seamless.
  • Instead of a button closure keep the band in garter stitch on both sides for a modern and on trend look.
  • This sweater is meant to be oversized so choose a finished measurement with at least 5” (12.5cm) ease.
  • If intarsia is too difficult, make the sweater without the chart then use duplicate stitch to add the VOTE on the back.
