For my newest animal sock, I looked towards the weather for inspiration - what do you think of when surrounded by cold and ice? It made me think of penguins, waddling around in the snow!

These socks are knit top down. The sock has a heel flap heel, which could be easily substituted if desired. These socks are wearable in slippers or sneakers.

Though the majority of the sock is knit in the round, there are parts of the socks that are knit flat. You can knit all of the pieces using your double pointed needles! You do have to sew on pieces, so be sure you are able to sew on knit items.

If you’ve knit my Snowman Socks, then you have the perfect yarns to knit up these socks too! One skein of Yarn Bee’s Authentic Hand-Dyed Tonal Yarn in Spa is enough to knit a pair of both the Snowman Socks and Waddle Feet in size medium or small! You could definitely use scrap yarns for the white and orange.

Recommended for folks who have knit socks before. Though instructions are written in the pattern, I am not writing why things are done, just the how to do things.

Sizes in Pattern:
• Child’s Large/Woman’s Small (approximately women’s shoe size US 5-7)
• Woman’s Medium (approximately women’s shoe size US 7.5-9)

Note about “Child’s Large”: Sizes 9-12 years will likely be size Small in the adult sizes pattern, and sizes 12+ will likely be size Medium or even Large in the pattern. This may require adjustment of the foot length, but should otherwise match the pattern’s instructions.
