This pattern is perfect for a beginner, and will provide informations for both women and men sizes.

The 8 pages make it look complicated at first glance, but it’s only because there are a lot of detailed explanations, links and pictures to help clarify certain techniques.

I knitted my first socks with my mom’s pattern, but I had to adapt it from the start because I had Sport yarn instead of Sock yarn. Her pattern was easy to understand, even more so because she is still with us to demonstrate the finer points in person. We are so lucky!

For my third pair, I chose to get a little more creative and added a texture to my pattern. I thought that it would be a good thing to write everything down in case I wanted to make the same thing again. Because my mom will soon turn 83, and each day that she spends with us is a gift, I thought that I should make it as detailed and easy to understand as possible, just in case…

So, this is how this pattern came to be.

I am pretty certain that even beginners will be able to understand everything, but please feel free to contact me for any clarification.

Oh, yes, before I forget, I did not explain k2tog and p2tog thoroughly in this pattern. However, I’m sure that a search on Youtube will return many results on how to do that.

I really hope that you will enjoy knitting these socks.

I also want to thank my mom for teaching me how to knit and for giving me permission to publish this pattern based on her own work. Love you Mom!
