This bag is completely made up of wagon wheel motifs, and uses Breakaway Crochet Method techniques to continuously work and join the motifs as-you-go. There is absolutely no sewing and only 2 or 3 yarn tails in the whole project (the beginning and ending threads, and joins between balls of yarn).

Although the “drape” of this bag is very floppy, there is very little stretch. The “knot” closure keeps contents secure, making it ideal to use as a market bag. You have the choice of working the handles in 2 ways: either as a Japanese knot-style bag, or as a bag with 2 long handles.

The yarn specified is a 4 ply / fingering weight yarn, and the hook size is slightly smaller than recommended to make a tighter stitch, but use a 3.25mm /US D3 hook if you prefer. You will need 2 x 50gm balls for this project.
