“You’re telling me that the king of a Third World country runs around in a bulletproof cat suit?”

This design was inspired by the talon necklace featured prominently on the costume worn by Black Panther.

The cowl features a simple eyelet border (knit backwards at the top of the cowl for symmetry), and a repeated bead pattern to emulate the design of the necklace worn by Black Panther.

It’s a semi-close fitting cowl, but it can easily be resized. It’s technically a pattern repeat of 15 stitches, but since the border uses an even number of stitches, in order to resize the cowl, it takes adding/subtracting stitches in increments of 30 stitches. (Unless you feel like fudging the border a bit, and by all means go for it, you’re knitting it, not me!)

To mimic the look of the suit when charged with kinetic energy, purple ribbon can be woven in through the eyelet rows.

Other materials needed:
480 size 8/0 seed beads
.75mm crochet hook for beading
Optional 3/8in. purple ribbon
