This hat is a simple way to show off a brilliant yarn- it works up quickly and gives you a place to add a button or two as accents!
Waldeinsamkeit is a German word meaning woodland solitude- the feeling of being alone in the woods. The first time I heard this word it struck something in me. Going into the forest alone is where i’m happiest, and the great thing of being alone in the forest is that you’re never actually alone.

Yarn:
One skein of Spin Cycle Yarn- Knit Fast, Die Young. Color- Brass Monkey

Needles:
US 13- 8mm needles. Use either 16” circular needles and DPN’s or a 24” or longer set to do the magic loop method.

Gauge:
10 stitches and 16 rows is
4”X4” in stockinette stitch

Finished Size:
Cast on to bind off- 10.5” and 18” circumference unstretched

One place marker, a darning needle, and a button or piece of flare. I used a 2.5” long antler button I made from a naturally shed deer antler.
