I designed the Walk Wild Hat for my friend Antje who runs a walking tour company in Scotland. It is a beanie in the Fair isle/Shetland style reflecting the forests, lochs, mountains and paths of her tours. While it was designed in one size (to fit Antje) it could be made smaller or larger by varying the needle sizes with careful monitoring of the tension. Eight colours of Jamieson of Shetland Spindrift are required but only small amounts of some colours are used. With many thanks to testers Grace, Sue, Jane and ginnyinstitches. Proceeds from selling the pattern until 31 December 2025 will be donated to the charity ‘Trees for Life’ which is working on rewilding the Scottish Highlands.
