Wallaby (8ply/DK version)
Wallaby is a seamless, top-down cardigan featuring a beautifully shaped circular yoke that highlights the subtle impact of three different increase techniques. Designed with simplicity in mind, it’s an approachable project for beginners while still offering thoughtful details to keep more experienced knitters engaged. Chunky garter stitch cuffs provide a cosy, textural finish, complimenting the clean lines of the garment. Inspired by its namesake, the wallaby; a smaller member of the macropod family that includes kangaroos; this design embodies understated charm and everyday practicality..
Construction:
This cardigan is knit from the top down. The body of the cardigan is knit flat and the sleeves are knit in the round. The cardigan has a circular yoke which uses a different increase technique for each of the increase rounds.
The edging and button bands are integrated into the garment as you knit, making for minimal finishing. The edging for the smaller sizes (15–19) is worked over four stitches while the larger sizes (20–30) is worked over five stitches.
