A cardigan is a must in the wardrobe!
Depending on the material this one would be as cute for summer, as for winter. For play, as well as for dressing up and going out.
This cardigan is simply perfect for any season and any occasion.

Design and construction
The round-yoked cardigan is worked top-down and seamlessly.
The neck is shaped by short-rows, in order to achieve a rounded and deeper neck on the front.
The petal-shaped yoke is embellished with lots of bobbles, which you also find at the hem.
The shape of the cardigan is classic, straight and with a great fit around the shoulders. It may be worked fully buttoned, or why not place a couple of buttons at the top only.

Sizes
1 - Chest circumference when buttoned (and size):
Size 1: 48 cm/19” (3 mo)
Size 2: 52 cm/20.5” (6 - 9 mo)
Size 3: 57 cm/22.5” (2 years)
Size 4: 61 cm/24” (3 - 4 years)
Size 5: 65.5 cm/25” (5 - 6 years)

Materials
Yarn: I recommend a DK weight yarn with great stitch-definition that works up to gauge.
The sample is worked using Double Sunday from Sandnes garn, in the shade 4219. This DK weight yarn comes in balls of 50 gr/1.76 oz and 108 m/118 yards. If using this yarn you will need approximately 250/290/380/450/500 m = 275/320/415/490/545 yards.
Needles: Size 3.5 mm/US4 to work the ribbed neckline, the cuffs, hem and buttonbands. Size 4 mm/US6 for the yoke and stockinette sections.
Notions: 1 removable stitch-marker, separate holders (or waste-yarn), blunt tapestry needle, blocking tools convenient for the yarn you are using,
6/6/7/7/8 buttons 13 mm/0.5” across

Gauge
22 sts and 30 rows in stockinette sts = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”
