“I love to go a-wandering
Along the mountain track
And as I go, I love to sing
My knapsack on my back”
“I wave my hat to all I meet
And They wave back to me
And blackbirds call so loud and sweet
From ev’ry green wood tree”

“The Happy Wanderer” (“Der fröhliche Wanderer”)
Florenz Friedrich Sigismund

The Wanderer hat is made using two stands of fingering weight yarn held double. It features a cozy folded brim with some fun texture made with just knit and purls.

For the sm and med sizes you can get away with knitting the hat from just one 100g/420yrd skein of fingering weight yarn, for the lg you will need a bit extra.
