All patterns are professionally tech-edited. Estimated yardage is generous to account for variations in foot size.

Stitch Counts and Yardage (per pair)
Child Small: 52 sts around, 200yd.
Child Large: 60 sts around, 300yd.
Adult Small: 68 sts around, 400 yd.
Adult Large: 72 sts around, 550 yd.

Some cable definitions for those unfamiliar with them. I recommend the Knit Picks tutorials (photo, video) if you have trouble, as they’re how I learned. This is a great pattern for learning to cable without a cable needle, if you are so inclined.

1/2 RC: 1 cable over 2, leaning to the right. Slip two stitches purlwise onto a cable needle and hold to back. Knit one, then knit two from cable needle.
1/2 LC: 1 cable over 2, leaning to the left. Slip two stitches purlwise onto a cable needle and hold to front. Knit one, then knit two from cable needle.
2/2 RC: 2x2 cable, leaning to the right. Slip two stitches purlwise onto cable needle and hold to back. Knit two, then knit two from cable needle.
2/2 LC: 2x2 cable, leaning to the left. Slip two stitches purlwise onto cable needle and hold to front. Knit two, then knit two from cable needle.
