The term “tulpen” is Dutch for “tulip,” and there’s no shortage of those in Holland or on this hat! In mid-April in The Netherlands, more than 7 million tulips bloom at the Keukenhof in Lisse, also known as the “Garden of Europe.” Known as a symbol of love, each varying color of the tulips carries with it a special meaning.

Choose HiKoo® Simplicity Multi as your contrasting color and watch in awe as the colors change and shift on their own for a calm project that blooms effortlessly. Or pick the colors for the flowers just to your liking by switching to your desired color from a section of the multicolored yarn for a truly customized result!

Written and charted instructions are available for the colorwork.
This pattern was inspired by the Primavera cowl by Tanis Gray, with permission.
