A Kiwiana inspired children’s scarf, measuring approx 11cm wide and 116cm long, which is a wearable version of Wanna-Bee (I wanna be a Buzzy Bee™) toy.

The inspiration for Wanna-Bee came from the iconic Buzzy Bee™ sold in New Zealand since the early 1940’s. Buzzy Bee™ was made by H (Hec) E Ramsey Limited of Auckland, who also created the Marylou™ doll.

The pattern can be adjusted to shorten or lengthen, and therefore yarn quantities will need to be amended accordingly.

Tension/gauge is not overly important..
Due to the construction of the scarf, it is important to follow the instructions in the order written.

The original version of Wanna-Bee was knitted using Cleckheaton Country 8ply - however the colour is discontinued.
The yarns used in the scarf are plain colours, but a good substitute for Cleackheaton Country 8ply is Willow and Lark Heath in colour Cardinal..
