Warm-up Headband is a cozy ribbed headband with sporty stripes. You can choose a thinner version with 3 sections of stripes or a wider version with 4 sections of stripes. The headband is designed to have approx. 3 - 8 % of negative ease to it based on the size. If you prefer tighter fit or looser fit, choose smaller or bigger size based on actual circumference of finished headband. Ribbed pattern gives the headband stretchiness even for smaller negative ease.

You can choose to use provisional cast on combined with kitchener stitch to finish the headband, or regular cast on and cast off and sewing headband easier way if you’re not an experienced knitter.

Sizes and finished headband circumference:
XS/M - 50,4 cm (20,2”)
S/M 53,2 cm (21,3”)
M/L - 56 cm (22,4”)
XL - 58,8 cm (23,5”)

Width of the headband:
Version 1 - 7,8 cm (3,1”)
Version 2 - 10,1 cm (4”)

Yarn and tools:

  • 3 mm (2.5 US) circular needles 40 cm length (Two sets of needles are needed when using provisional cast on. If you don’t have two sets in the same size, you can use half size smaller.)
  • 50 - 70 g of main colour yarn in DK weight and, 10 - 12 g of two contrast yarns in DK weight
  • crochet hook for provisional cast on (in the similar size as knitting needles)
  • tapestry needle
  • marker for beginning of the row
