I am so happy that spring is finally here and we’re slowly rolling into summer (my favorite season!). I wait with anticipation every winter for the chance to spend time on the deck admiring flowers, watching the hummingbirds, knitting/crocheting, reading or practicing yoga. Not to mention, enjoying a craft beer with my hubby. I love all of these things, but not being taunted by wasps and hornets. They seem to find any nook and cranny to make a home and then retaliate when we want to share the space.
Decoy nests to the rescue!! I have two in trees around the house and one on our deck. I have also received positive reviews from family members who have used them as well on their porches and decks.
Wasps reportedly do not like mint, so you can sprinkle a few drops of peppermint oil on the nests to help discourage wasps as well.
This project works up very quickly, I would estimate about an hour. I used stash yarn for this project, less than 1 skein.
This project makes great gifts as well!
