A reminder of summer gardens to enjoy anytime!
The techniques for this pattern are easy! You only need knit and slipped stitches to create the pattern, and only one colour of yarn is used at a time. This is a great introduction to the techniques used for “mosaic knitting”, and creates a cute and practical cloth in no time!
This pattern includes optional instructions to experiment with intarsia techniques as well to change colours mid-row (for the watering can in my sample) - though you will have a few yarn ends to manage, the end result is worth it!
Yarn:
Worsted weight cotton yarn (4) in two or more contrasting colours, approximately 73m/80 yards total. Cotton yarn is recommended for dishcloths; but any fibre (or weight) would work for the pattern.
Gauge is not critical for this project, but will affect the finished size and yardage required.
Needles: 4.5mm (US size 7) straight knitting needles
Finished Dimensions: Approximately 9” square.
Pattern instructions: Written and charted instructions
