The shawl is knitted in Højlandsuld, but any wool with the given yardage will do (Supersoft or Noble from Holst, Christel Seyfarth etc). But the yarn needs to be joined by splicing to avoid a lot of end weaving.

Find the colours you like, in the yarn brand you like, to make a shawl YOU like :-)

Exact gauge is not important as there are no parts that needs fitting. However - an even gauge is necessary.

It is difficult to say how much you will need of each colour, as it varies with the order you choose to present the colours. I have used the following quantities:

Background:

Ishav - 75 grams
Topaz - 50 grams
Blå Rullesten - 30 grams
Indigo - 20 grams
Petroleum - 25 grams
Smaragd 5 grams
Pæreskal - 30 grams
Grøn hvede - 15 grams
Kiwi - 20 grams

Pattern:

Marshmallow - 10 grams
Lys Syren - 10 grams
Candyfloss - 25 grams
Lyng - 25 grams
Blomme kompot 5 grams
Mørk meleret rose - 25 grams

Edge:
Antracite or black - 175 grams

The shawl is steeked and the stripes are kniited with an interval of 4-8 rows.

However I bought 100 grams of each colour and have lots of yarn to make a jumper, a jacket, a hat or something else.

Enjoy your knitting :-)
