  • fairy tale wool in light green
  • red lining
  • circular needles (gauge US 11 / 8 mm; 60 - 80 cm wire)
  • a felting needle (e.g. from clover)
  • a red zipper (45 - 50 cm)
  • a handle
  • a crochet needle (any size)

Approximate finished dimensions (after felting) are:
width: 45 cm
height: 22 cm
depth: 5 - 15 cm

Overview:
The bag is knitted in three separate parts: You start with the two sides of the bag which contain the red pulp and parts of the melon’s skin. The third part is the bottom of the bag which is only made of dark green skin. After knitting, the three parts are ironed, sewed together, and finally felted (at 40°C in the washing machine, add a few tennis balls during the wash). The black seeds and the light green stripes are dry-felted after felting.

Gauge:
12 stitches and 16 rows (stockinette) are supposed to give you a 10 x 10 cm square.
