UPDATE: a separate Pattern Notes PDF has been added

Inspired by the ocean, the ripple texture of the waves and the irregularity of the ocean waves crashing upon the shore, this asymmetrical wrap (or shawl) transitions through texture, lace and color.
Each section is a little different from the next & the last.

The finished wing span (post wet blocking) measures an approx. length of 70” (178cm) with a center drop measurement of approx 20” (51cm)

Notes about the pattern
Part I of the wrap is knit holding a single strand of fingering weight.
Part II of the wrap is knit holding 2 strands together throughout.

Part I of the wrap you are working the “right” and “wrong” sides of the piece for 2 rows before turning your work (with the exception of one section where it is noted to turn work after each row)

At the end of Row 1 per side you will need to slide the stitches back to the right end of the needle to work Row 2 on the same side.

Carrying your yarn up the side edge: because you work each row of section I with two colors separately, you will carry your working yarn up the edge.

In order to keep a neat edge, after working row 2 and turning work, pull the yarn tail for row 1 from under row 2 yarn so you will consistently wrap in the same manner.*

Suggested Yarn:
Nature’s Luxury’s “La Parisienne” light fingering weight, in 3 colors

My sample knit in: Vincennes (C1), Buddha Bar (C2) and Le Métro (C3)

Available as kits from Nature’s Luxury (in a variety of color combination options)

Yarn requirements**
3 (or 4) colors of Fingering weight yarn
color 1: 500 yards / color 2: 400 yards / color 3: 300 yards
color 1: 547meters / color 2: 438 meters / color 3: 329 meters

Note: if you decide to use 4 colors you will need 300 yards / 329 meters of both colors 1 & 4*

Needles and Notions
US size 6 (4 mm) needle on 30” circular cable
Darning needle to weave in ends
Optional - removable stitch marker to mark “right side”

Gauge guide based on stockinette stitch, using US size 6 needle and single strand of fingering weight yarn is 26 sts / 4”
