Learn how to make a quick and easy bucket hat with a wavy brim. You’ll only need 1 skein of your preferred #3 yarn, a 4mm hook, yarn needle and measuring tape. The instructions will only tell how to make it in a single color, however, it’s super easy to make color changes in this pretty hat.

The skein I used contains 100g and it wasn’t even close to running out when I finished my piece. The label indicated a 5mm for knitting needles or a 4mm for crochet hook with a gauge of (10x10 18;25). It’s a local brand, called Tren’s Super Suave.

Flexibility changes with the used yarn and tension, that’s why it’s important to follow the indicated measurements to meet gauge. Before starting to make the hat, make a swatch following the pattern up until round 7 to check the size. The circle’s radius should measure 3 1/2” or 9cm. If size is not met, use a bigger hook if the swatch turned out small and a smaller hook if the swatch turned out big.

To those people who are complete beginners, I’ve linked some YouTube videos at the end.
