Stripes are so compelling to knit, it is hard to stop! Thin stripes alternate with slightly thicker wavy stripes for visual interest, while the cuff, heels, and toes add a pop of color. A small stripe at the beginning of the cuff completes the look.

These socks are knit from the cuff down, with minimal stranded colorwork throughout the leg and foot, perfect for the beginning colorwork knitter. A cut-in afterthought heel is worked on the back of the first sock, while the second sock’s heel is worked on the front: when flipped, the BOR fall to the inside of the leg on both socks.

Parts of the pattern are written for two needles, with stitches divided perfectly in half between a front needle and a back needle. If using DPNs, divide four needles so that the first two are considered the “front needle” and the last two are the “back needle”.
