Modern lace and almost nine hundred sparkling Swarovski crystals create the enchanting Waxwing Shawl. This can be passed down through generations of brides. The beads are placed with a beading hook to avoid pre-stringing.

A versatile and easy to wear crescent, Waxwing Shawl features a very simple geometric lace pattern throughout the body with a more intricate beaded border.

The shawl is knitted in one piece starting at the center top and grows through rapid increases along the top edge. The edge is beaded along the increases to balance out the beaded bottom border; however, all the beads are optional and the shawl will look just as great without them (890 Swarovski crystals or 6/0 4.00mm seed beads).

The easy two-row lace pattern uses only basic lace stitches on the right side and purled wrong side rows, which makes this a perfect project for a beginner lace knitter or a quick project for a more advanced knitter (yardage note: the original sample used just under 615 yards of the lace weight yarn).
