The WAYFARER TEE is the second addition to the WAYFARER COLLECTION - a range of simple yet contemporary, everyday wearable pieces. Designed with simplicity in mind, the pieces in the WAYFARER COLLECTION are suitable for beginner knitters, yet also offer a relaxing project for those with more experience.

Like its predecessor, the WAYFARER RAGLAN sweater, the WAYFARER TEE is seamlessly constructed from the top down. The neck is cast on using a long-tail method, shaped with German short rows, and further defined by simultaneously incorporating raglan increases. The yoke is subtly shaped with lifted increases, resulting in an elegant, unobtrusive raglan seam. Once the sleeves and body are separated, they’re worked in classic stockinette stitch to the desired length. The cuffs and hem are neatly finished with a 1x1 rib and bound off in pattern.

The completed WAYFARER TEE is an exceptionally versatile wardrobe staple, sure to be a favourite through warmer seasons and beyond. Knitted with minimal or no positive ease in fingering weight yarn, it serves as a superb, lightweight layering piece, pairing perfectly with the WAYFARER RAGLAN sweater when extra warmth is needed. The design simplicity of the WAYFARER TEE not only ensures an enjoyable and relaxing knitting experience, but also creates a versatile garment destined to become a cornerstone of your wardrobe.

Yarn Substitutes:
Any fingering weight yarn that meets the gauge. I suggest using a yarn of appropriate weight that is either a cotton and merino wool blend or pure merino. These yarn types would give a similar drape and feel to the finished tee.

Gauge:
The gauge for the stockinette stitch is 26 sts and 36 rounds per 10 cm, worked with a 2.5 mm needle, after blocking.

The swatch should be knit in the round.

Needles:
2.0 mm and 2.5 mm 60-120 cm circular needles and/or DPNs (Tip: Cotton, cotton blends, and linen yarns are slippery, so you might want to consider using wooden or bamboo needles).

Knitting Tools and Accessories:
Stitch markers, stitch holders, waste yarn, a darning needle, and scissors.
