I developed this pattern to design a unique scarf as a farewell gift for a dear colleague.
The meandering rows of stitches stand for ways of life and encounters of dear people - even if ways part, they will cross at a later stage, and even if people seem to leave your life, you will encounter them at a later stage.

The pattern comes along with a chart as well as written instructions. These, however, rather should be considered as a “recipe” to crate the shawl, rather than a row-by-row instruction.

The total length of the scarf is ca 180 cm, with a width of ca 50 cm, following only the 73 stitches of the original chart. If you prefer a wider shawl, you can just add multiples of 34 stitches. Length can be decided individually based on your preferences.

While developing and test knitting the pattern, I used a scrap of Alpaka Silk, which provides a very different texture and gauge to the pattern - so you can just try the pattern according to the chart and wait for the result it provides!
