This is a generously sized hat knitted in DK wool, with repeated 12 stitch motifs inspired by the weather forecast icons of the 1980s. It is knit in the round on circular needles, from the bottom up. It has a generous ribbed brim, which is folded for a snuggly fit, before the stranded colour-work weather icons are worked, followed by an evenly decreased crown. You can leave things here for the simple look, or add on a colourful pom-pom if you prefer!

Yarn required: Between 210-250m double knit or yarn to achieve gauge. I am quite a loose knitter, so swatching is advised as you may wish to go up a needle size.

4 shades required, for main colour, rain, clouds, and suns.
