Originally designed for the Easyknits.co.uk Nerd Sock Club, Wednesday’s Child Socks are creepy and they’re cooky, and altogether spooky.

Inspiration was take for these socks from one of my favourite characters in the Addams family, Wednesday, recently getting her own show, I ran with the idea of a skull lace panel inserted in the leg of the sock, with a cable cuff, slip stitch pattern and toe in another colour (of course black or deep red will work best here, and only 20g/80yds required for this).

Not too difficult for even a beginner lace or sock knitter, and the slip stitch pattern is completely optional so if you don’t want too much to think about while you’re knitting, simply omit it.

The pattern is given in 3 sizes, Small, Medium and Large and the pattern is offered in written instructions and charts.

Worked from the top down, with a reinforced heel flap, this sock is a fun knit and will keep you interested throughout.
