This pattern is for a pair of ornately cable lace socks. The cable itself is a Canadian cable that is just perfect for socks, that comes to us from the creative mind of Annie Maloney. There’s lace fattoging in the sock for ease. The combination of the small amount of lace and ornate cable has enough “give” to make them comfortable: they will hug your ankle/leg without being too tight. There is an unusual cabling to make them interesting to look at and fun to knit. The back and front are the same until the heel flap.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of knitting and purling, lace knitting and cabling).

The cable stitch is both charted and written out.

This pattern is written for 2 circular needles and is written for sizes Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large, and is sized by gauge (if you want to adjust your size from M, be sure to adjust your yarn so it matches your new needle size). MOST women wear socks in size M (shoe size 6 - 9)

This pattern was expertly test knitted by Alicia Gourley, who can be reached at: Alicia.Gourley@ gmail.com and was knit with Malabrigo’s Ultimate Sock yarn in colorway, Reflecting Pool.
