Gauge:
28 stitches x 44 rows = 4” / 10 cm square in stockinette after blocking, using US 2.5 / 3 mm needles

Measurements:
This cowl is one size: 8.75”/ 22 cm tall by 22.75” / 58 cm circumference. You can alter the cowl’s size by using different yarn weights or repeating the chart more times than called for – just keep in mind that this will change yardage requirements.

Suggested Needles:
US 2.5 / 3 mm circular needle, 16” / 40 cm long
US 5 / 3.75 single DPN or circular needle (optional for bind-off)

Notions:
10 stitch markers, 1 unique for beginning of round

Notes:
This cowl is knit in the round from the bottom up, with lace instructions that are both written and charted. The lace design of this cowl shows up best when the knitted fabric is dense and there are minimal colour variations. Solid and tonal yarns work especially well. Lightweight fibres, such as the polwarth/alpaca blend used in the samples, drape gently and result in a garment that is wearable in all seasons.
