Welted Domino Square

I combined a 2-row welt pattern with a domino square. I cast on 51 stitches but you can cast on any large odd number of stitches to begin. 4 pattern rows are repeated until there are only 5 stitches left. 2 decrease rows later, 1 stitch is left with no binding off. Any combination of yarn and needles will work. Note: a variegated yarn will make wider and wider stripes as the rows shorten. My swatches are 3.75” square.
Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl, p2tog and SK2P.
Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.
60 yards of Patons Kroy Socks yarn will make a 51-stitch Welted Domino Square at gauge.
